Sirkka - furniture to love
This month we officially launched our family furniture Brand Sirkka – Furniture to love. Sirkka represents thirty years of craftsmanship and heritage. Our furniture draws on my husband Paul’s three decades of furniture making and my refined eye as an interior designer. Each Sirkka piece is shaped by this experience and embodies practicality, comfort, and care.

Paul has been in the furniture manufacturing industry since he was 25, working in his family business that became one of the biggest furniture manufacturing businesses in Australia in the 80s and 90s with up to 200 staff.. When manufacturing in China challenged the Australian manufacturing industry, their family business also moved manufacturing to China in the Year 2000 closing the factory in Brisbane.
At the time I had three young children and was pregnant with my youngest child Sacha. My life changed dramatically as Paul then spent a lot of time in China (instead of the local factory 10 min from home) and I was often on my own with 4 kids under 7.
Sacha is now 21 and we are excited to be back on home ground, starting afresh and making our sofas by hand with our small team in Brisbane. Our furniture has been designed to break the mould - to embrace our relaxed Australian indoor-outdoor lifestyle and bring back the enjoyment and comfort in our homes.

Paul says he is happy to be back on the factory floor, on the tools, training young men and women to be furniture makers, and creating furniture he is proud to put our name to. Part of our role as local manufacturers and designers is educating the public to spend a little more to buy Australian made, invest in quality, and design and reap the benefits not only for ourselves but for our children.

Sirkka Launch PARTY
We marked the introduction of Sirkka with an unforgettable Launch Party hosted at the Food Connect Shed, located right beside our factory in Salisbury, Brisbane. The event featured a beautiful display of our furniture range, guided tours of our factory, and good food by our daughter Ingrid, complemented by Australian champagnes and wines. It was a day filled with laughter and positive energy.
