take a Tour of our latest project Clarence House-

A HOME THAT CELEBRATES COLOUR AND COMFORTABLE FAMILY LIVING

The changing colours of the expansive view of the sky and the surrounding trees was the inspiration behind the interior scheme for Clarence House, a family home, high on the hill in Indooroopilly in Brisbane.

LIVING ROOM - A colour blast

The living room incorporates a combination of soft calming shades of greens, blues, oranges and pinks in a way that reflects nature. The artwork by local artist, Sarah Daly is a commission piece of an overhead view of the landscape based on a map of the suburb where this family have lived for the past 20 years.

ENTRY - A welcome home

This entry to the home has been softened with a custom made seat cushion and sisal rug and made useful with baskets for shoes. The textiles and colours used in the entry are an introduction to the home and a taste of what is to come.

HOME OFFICE - An inspiring room to work

As the clients both work from home, the home office is an important room in the house that had previously been overlooked. Our makeover of the office incorporates natural textures and finishes which add warmth and inspiration to this home working environment whilst taking into account the functional needs of the space.

The leather sofa in the home office was repurposed from the living room and feels right at home here alongside the rattan lamp base, sisal rug and African baskets on the wall.

VERANDAH - An outdoor living room

“The deck is where we spend all of our time” our clients explained at our initial briefing meeting. We designed ‘the deck’ as an outdoor living room with comfortable Vincent Sheppard furniture, a striped rug and custom furnishings in fabrics and colours that complemented those used indoors whilst also reflecting the colours of nature.

KITCHEN - Final details

The kitchen had recently been renovated so it is now complete with sheer white linen curtains and Vincent Sheppard bar stools reflecting the colours and textures used outdoors.

GABE’S design tip

Be inspired by what is around you when establishing a colour scheme for your home. Look to nature for the subtle way colours are used and combined.
