Out of the blue

A soft calming palette of blues, aqua green and soft pinks has transformed this bedroom for a couple with three young children whose wish was to create a sanctuary to escape for relaxation and recuperation. Embracing colour and pattern, the scheme incorporates a combination of prints to complement the bedhead which is a feature in the room. The shades of blues and greens in the room changes according to the light coming through the French doors at different times of the day. It is mesmerising and calming at the same time.

“Gabrielle is a talented designer who has an eye for detail and quality. She embraced my ideas and nailed the brief which was no easy feat: eclectic, patterns, mix of textures, colour and personality but yet still a calm and cosy place to sleep. I wasn’t sure how to make this a reality but she delivered a beautiful room and a calming space for us to retreat and rest. The room looks like it belongs in a boutique hotel yet still feels like “us”.
